María Ximena Pineda

Spanish Tutor & Founder
Maria Ximena Pineda is a Colombian writer with a major in Literature and a minor in Arts from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She currently lives in Chicago. She holds an MFA in screenwriting and has been teaching Spanish as a second language for more than 10 years. She is a fan of linguistics and language in general; for this reason, she has been researching how people—especially adults—learn a second language. As a result of this effort she created TutorA, a tool addressed for those who need guidance and motivation while joining the Spanish Speaking Club.

Claudia Del Castillo-Caycedo

Certified Language Coach

Mrs. del Castillo-Caycedo was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. She holds a BA in Literature and a Master’s in Journalism. For over 10 years, she has worked as an editor, copywriter, teacher, journalist, and certified English-Spanish translator. Currently, she is a freelancer, teaching ESL, translating for private and public entities, and is in the process of drafting her first book.

What is a virtual tutor?

A Tutor is also a Coach: someone trained to motivate students by sharing comprehensible, compelling Spanish content so students can eventually forget they are just ¨visiting¨ the language and can finally embrace that they are already part of the Spanish Speaking Club.
